SAWATZKY, Bill. July 14, 1943 ~ July 5, 2013. It is with profound sadness and deep grief that we said "see you later" to our wonderful husband, dad, and grandpa in the afternoon of July 5th at the Christine Morrison Hospice in Mission BC. We said "see you later" because we will see him again one day in heaven for a great family reunion. Left to mourn him are: his wife of 46 years Shirley, his daughters Crystal (Frank) Letkeman, Sherry (Rob) Puittinen and Jill (Craig) Seale; along with his grandchildren - Celine, Cady, Alexa, Logan, Skylar, Rayna, Asher, and Esme. Also left to mourn him are his sisters, brother in laws and sister in laws, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. Born in Winnipeg Manitoba, Bill moved his family westward, settling in BC in 1981. Bill was a truck driver who loved meeting new people and enjoying God's creation from his driver's seat. Bill was an amazing man. He loved Jesus deeply, and was quick to share his faith with others along the way. His family has always been his greatest joy, and each grandchild was a delight to his heart. His words daily to Shirley were "Honey, you look so beautiful and I love you so much!" He loved to be anywhere in God's nature: camping, gardening, and walking with Shirley. His is known for his kind words, great generosity, handyman skills, warm smile, optimistic spirit, and deep love for others. His passing leaves a huge hole in our hearts and lives. He will be profoundly missed here on earth. But we do rejoice that he is now pain free, living abundantly and freely with His maker and lover of his soul. We want to thank the staff at Christine Morrison Hospice for their deep care and love for Bill and our family through this very difficult time. A celebration of Bill's life will be held on Monday July 15th at 11am at Immanuel Fellowship Baptist Church in Abbotsford, BC. All who know and love Bill are welcome to celebrate and remember with us. In lieu of flowers, we gratefully appreciate contributions to the Christine Morrison Hospice in honour of Bill's name.
