January 24, 1926 - August 4, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Betty Mabel McEwan, August 4, 2018 at the age of 92 years. She was predeceased by her husband Jack McEwan, her daughter Darlene Van Geffen and her grandson, Sean McEwan.
Betty was born January 24, 1926 in Chatham, Ontario where she lived until 1995 when she moved across the country to Vernon, British Columbia. In 2010 she moved one final time to Abbotsford, British Columbia.
Friends and family loved her gracious conversation, her natural friendliness and her kind nature. She had an easy going personality and loved to socialize and chat with everyone. Betty enjoyed sharing her times as a telephone switch board operator, her work for many years in a dress shop and her time spent in Florida during the winter months with her beloved husband Jack. She enjoyed ceramics, painting and knitting in her younger years, and reading and crossword puzzles in her later life.
Betty will be missed by her son, Wayne (Bonnie) McEwan, her granddaughter, Kelly (Trevor) Newton, and her great grandchildren, Kiana and Tarek.
The family would like to thank everyone at Holmberg House for their compassion and care during Betty's last days. At Betty's request there will be no formal service.
