DRIESSEN, Bettina Ingrid

Bettina passed away peacefully on the morning of August 5, 2010 at the age of 52 after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Bettina was born in Calgary in 1957 to Benno (deceased) and Ingrid Mueller. The family moved to Mission, BC and she graduated from Mission Secondary High school in 1975 and then received her Nursing degree from BCIT in 1977. After a brief nursing career Bettina married Tony Driessen on October 21, 1978 and the couple moved to Picture Butte, Alberta to begin dairy farming and raising their family. In 1992 the family moved back to BC, to continue dairy farming on Sumas Prairie. Bettina was passionate about her children and her cows and took pride in all that she did. She will always be remembered as a tireless and selfless giver by her family.
She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband of 32 years, Tony, and her 6 children, Lizzie (Matthew) L’Heureux, Cindy (Kris) Dueck, Anita (Michael) Kooyman, Brenda, Megan, and Andrew. She will also be remembered as a generous and loving “Oma” to her grandchildren, Dominic and Olivia. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at 11:00 am at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 33333 Mayfair Ave, Abbotsford.
The family would like to thank Dr. Walia, Dr. Brown and the staff at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital., and Dr. Bull and staff from Cascade Hospice in Chilliwack.
