It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Bernie Kamphuis of Abbotsford, at the age of 47. A father, husband, son, brother, uncle and friend. Bernie is survived by his children Ben and Ayrann of Abbotsford and their mother Maryann, his parents Herman and Helen, sister Jane Langford, and brothers Paul and Robert and their families in Ontario. Bernie will be missed by the Visser, Reid, and LaRonde families of Aldergrove, Ontario and Australia.
Bernie was born in London, Ontario, and relocated to BC in 1993. He worked as a welder at Magnum Trailers. Bernie’s favourite times were spent outdoors with family and friends, and playing and coaching soccer.
The community’s respect was reflected in the love and support shown to Bernie and his family during his illness.
A viewing will take place on Tuesday, August 21, 2007 from 6-8 pm at Henderson’s Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Rd, Abbotsford. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 22 at 4:00 pm at Henderson’s Funeral Home.
Those wishing to honour Bernie with charitable donations may do so to the Christine Morrison Hospice, Abbotsford Minor Soccer or to a charity of their choice.
