Benjamin Walter JANZEN

Benjamin Walter, peacefully, at the Christine Morrision Hospice at Mission Memorial Hospital, on Saturday, October 29, 2005. Ben was 82 years of age. Predeceased by his wife Johanna in January 2005. Ben is survived by his children, Stewart and his wife Valerie, Eric and his wife Kathy and Lorrie and her husband Ian Dickey; his grandchildren, Rein, Brianna, Kris (Kristy), Tyler (Tiffany), Monica, Trevor and Leah; his sisters Ruth and Elvira and his brother Harry, many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Born in Herbert, Saskatchewan, Ben came west in his teens, returning here with his wife Johanna, after his service in the RCAF during WWII. Eventually settling in Abbotsford, he worked in the family plumbing and heating business for many years. More recently, he worked for Safeway in Abbotsford, as a maintenance engineer. Ben touched the lives of many young people over the years, with his coaching of lacrosse, hockey, softball and his involvement with the boy-scouts movement. For those desiring, donations made in Ben’s memory to the Christine Morrision Hospice in Mission, or the B.C. Cancer Foundation would be most appreciated. Ben’s family wish to express their sincere gratitude to the wonderful staff of the Christine Morrison Hospice as well as Karen and Roxanne for their love and care they shared with Ben during his illness. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 7, 2005 at Cascade Community Church, 35190 Delair Road Major Ron Cartmell officiating.
