Barry Richard Krieck was born on September 19, 1947; the son of Ruby and Richard Krieck. Barry was a charismatic and outgoing man; he couldn't go anywhere without recognizing someone. Barry was a retired Captain from the New Westminster Fire Department after 30 years of service. He spent his retired life as a Fire Warden for the Coastal Fire Centre. He was also a staple member of the community of the Mission holding such positions as Emergency Preparedness Coordinator. For many years he was also President of the Mission Speed Skating Club where all of his children participated. He also served on the Board of Directors for the BC Speed Skating Association. Barry was diagnosed with oral cancer in 2011 and unfortunately lost his battle on Sunday, August 12, 2012 peacefully with his family by his side. He is survived by his loving wife Margaret, their children Ricky, Jordy and Kristina, his brother Blaine Krieck and his sidekick Anouk. A Celebration of Barry's life will be held at the Best Western Mission City Lodge 32281 Lougheed Highway, Mission, BC on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at 1:00 p.m.
