BARLAJ (GEORGE) SEHKON

Barlaj (George) Singh Sekhon passed away suddenly and tragically on October 18, 2003 at the age of 50 at Mission Memorial Hospital, after battling cancer and suffering a stroke.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife Kanaljit K., sons: Rashpal S. (Monserat), Rippy S. (Melissa) and his treasured granddaughter Rylee K., along with his parents Pruan S. and Gurdev K., his brothers Sarbit S. (Manhor K.), Jagray S. (Karmjit) sister Baljeet K. (Parmjit S.) and many nieces and nephews.

Barlaj was born January 5, 1953 in Punjab, India. He immigrated to Canada in 1971 and has lived in Mission since. He worked at Whonnock Lumber for 20 years and has been at Hammond Cedar for 10 years.

Barlaj will be remembered for his out-going personality, generosity and dedication to his family. One of his last wishes was to thank all of his family and friends who helped him throughout his life, especially those who helped during the last couple of months.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. from the Abby Arts Centre, 2329 Crescent Way, Abbotsford. 604-853-0966.

Cremation to follow at the Mission Crematorium at 12:30 p.m. Prayers will be held at 2 p.m. at the Mission Sikh Temple.
