MANKY- Barbara Lynne: Born October 14th, 1955, Barbara passed away Sunday April 20, 2008 with peace and grace and without pain or suffering, surrounded by her family at Peace Arch Hospital, White Rock.
Barbara was the beloved daughter of Henry and Edna Mae, sister to Cal and Daryl, double cousin to Brenda, loved and loving wife of Will and, most of all, devoted and loving mother to Drew. She was a good friend to all and a best friend to many. She was the rescuer of animals in need especially cats: PJ, Pumpkin, Frank, Orlando and Gus and our lovebird Cassandra were all given special places in our home. Barbara also cherished horses and horseback riding. Nothing gave her more pleasure than an afternoon at the barn unless it was tending her garden. She was an avid cook and entertainer even hosting dinners during her illness. She was active in the community, the chair of the parent advisory committee, member of the garden club, block watch captain, canvasser for charities, and an active member of her church. She loved music too playing the piano and encouraging her son with the violin. She was a whiz at solving Sudoku puzzles and played a good game of Scrabble. On top of all of this Barbara had a successful career as a businesswoman, business analyst and project manager. The force that was Barbara will be greatly missed.
A celebration of Barbara's life will be held on Saturday May 3rd at 3 pm at the Royal Oak Community Church, 7175, Royal Oak Avenue in Burnaby.
