GEORGE

Arthur G. George, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away quietly, surrounded by his family on May 28, 2010 at Abbotsford Regional Hospital.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 56 years Charlotte, children Connie (Brad) Wiebe and Douglas (Andrea) George, grandchildren Kelsey, Emily (Nathan), Brayden & Georgia, great-grandson Owen, sister Louisa, brothers Richard and William, and many friends. Arthur was predeceased by his brother Clairmont.

He will be remembered by all who knew him for his quick wit and sense of humour.

Art was born on July 20, 1931 in Saskatoon, SK to Alice and Arthur George. He spent his formative years in Lloyd- minster and the family moved to Chilliwack in 1943. At 15, Art worked at sea with the West Coast Fleet. That is where his life-long love of the ocean began. He was a pioneer in the propane industry where he worked for the majority of his life. Arthur remained as a Consultant in the industry until two weeks before his passing.

He met his future wife Charlotte at a dance at Matsqui Hall in 1952. They were married two years later and lived on Vancouver Island and the Fraser Valley for their married life.

Many thanks to Dr. Michael Bale and the amazing staff of the A.C.E. Unit of Abbotsford Regional Hospital.

Memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
