In Loving Memory of Arthur Dirks ~ Passed into the presence of His Lord from his room at Menno Home in the early hours of Monday, August 17, 2020 following a brief acute illness after a long life of happy Christian witness.
He is survived by his children: Terri Dirks, Sue (Gordon) Unger, Tim (Sandi) Dirks, 5 grandchildren: Tim Martens (Joanne), Jeret Unger (Joanna), Carla Siemens (Paul), Rachelle Lorentz (Michael), Nicolette Tell, and 13 great-grandchildren, as well as his sister Vi Thompson.
He was predeceased by his wife Mabel Dirks and his grandson Adam David Martens.
Art was born on his parent's homestead outside Waldheim, Saskatchewan. He retired from Gerdau Ameristeel in Selkirk, Manitoba in 1986. Art and Mabel enjoyed their retirement years in Abbotsford with many friends and relatives.
A visitation was held at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Road, Abbotsford at 9 am on Friday, August 21, 2020.
A Graveside Service was held at Maclure Road Mennonite Cemetery following the visitation.
A Memorial Service was held at Woodlawn Funeral Home at 11:30 am on Friday, August 21, 2020.
