Arend (Art) Bouman

September 30, 1931 to February 27, 2017

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather into everlasting life with his Heavenly Father. Art leaves to mourn his devoted and beloved wife of sixty-three years, Narda (nee Schoonewelle) along with his four children, Jeanette (Andy) Noordam, Joyce (John) Sprietsma, Roy (Caroline) Bouman, Teresa (Mike) Floris, thirteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Art is survived by his sisters Jo (Gerry-deceased) Brinkman, Dien (Siem) Pos, twin sister Helen (Max-deceased) Kastelein, brother Gerry (Joan) Bouman, sister-in-law Emma (Hank) Haak, sister-in-law Harmina Schoonewelle, brother-in-law Hotze (Jenny-deceased) Dijkstra and many nieces and nephews. Art was also predeceased by his brother Henk Bouman and extended family, Koos and Henny Coenraadts. Dad had an amazingly full life, a successful career with the Royal Bank of Canada which spanned 35 years, he embraced every adventure, always enjoyed a good laugh and loved us all unconditionally. Unfortunately, Dad struggled over the last couple of years with his health and was diagnosed with cancer last November. Sadly, a cure was not to be and after a short battle and a lot of loving care from Mom, Dad went peacefully into the arms of Jesus on the morning of February 27, 2017. A celebration of Dad’s life will be held on March 18, 2017 at 2:00 pm at New Life CRC Church, 35270 Delair Road, Abbotsford, BC and will be officiated by Pastor Nathan Elgersma. In lieu of flowers, donations to Holmberg Hospice House, Abbotsford, BC would be welcome www.abbotsfordhospice.org. Online condolences to the family may be made to: www.wiebeandjeskefh.com
