Dienstbier, Annemarie August 22, 1935 -

September 17, 2012. It is with great sadness and appreciation for a life well lived that we announce the passing of a remarkable Mother and Oma, Annemarie Dienstbier. She passed away peacefully at Chilliwack General hospital on September 17, 2012 surrounded in love by her family after a courageous 3 month battle with multiple myeloma. Born in Nuremberg, Germany on August 22, 1935, mom was a kind, loving and caring person. Her greatest joy in life was her children: Conny (Denis), Juergen (Jerri), Guido (Suzanne), Christa (Randy) and 8 wonderful grandchildren: Michael (Amy), Brady, Cameron, Chantal, Eric, Hannah, Riley and little Ellie Marie. She is also survived by her brother in Germany Heiner (Gerlinde) and family Gaby, Sabrina and Christian. She was predeceased by her husband Kurt Dienstbier. Mom's other passions were her love for 10 pin bowling at Dogwood Lanes in Abbotsford, going on trips with her best friend Mathilde to Laughlin, Nevada and gardening. She was also known for her wonderful gift of German cooking and was always happy to share her favourite foods with family and friends. The family extends heartfelt thanks and deep gratitude to Dr. Bartel and his staff, Margot the home health care nurse and the compassionate nurses at CGH specifically Jacquie, Melissa and many more. We would also like to thank the hospice volunteers who came to visit her at the Waverly and making her last few months more peaceful. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to The Chilliwack Hospice Society.

Love is missing some one whenever you're apart, but somehow feeling warm inside because you are close to my heart." Where ever you are Oma our love will always find you!
