December 1, 1939 - April 20, 2019
On Saturday April 20, 2019 Anneliese passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord in Abbotsford, BC. Anneliese leaves behind her loving family to mourn her loss. She is survived by her husband Walter, sister Alice (Horst), brother Fred (Ann), daughter Mirielle (Jason), son Carl (Sherrie) and two beloved grandchildren Joshua (Mirielle) and Ava (Carl).

Anneliese was born in Rohrbach, Romania and grew up in Poland and Germany during WW2 before emigrating to Canada in 1954. Her family eventually settled in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she met Walter, got married in 1962 and had her two children.

In 1979 her family, along with her parents Andrew and Anna, moved to Abbotsford, BC to be near her brother Fred. Once in BC, Anneliese quickly immersed herself in the local community, joining Peace Lutheran Church and The Mission Alpen Club.

In 1981 Anneliese and Walter founded The Frasertal Choir, an award winning and popular German Folk signing choir that performed all over BC for over 20 years. Anneliese loved being involved with her church and choir and served many different positions on many committees and councils. You would always find Anneliese at the center of any social gathering. Gardening was another one of Anneliese's passions and her yard/garden won awards in local gardening contests. She also designed and planted gardens at her children's houses.

Anneliese will be deeply missed by many. She was always the first person to offer assistance to anyone she thought needed it. She had a wonderful laugh and a witty tongue when needed. Her memory will live on in her children, grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service, followed by refreshments and fellowship will be held at 2:30 pm Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Peace Lutheran Church, 2029 Ware St., Abbotsford, BC. All are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers please donate to the BC Cancer Foundation in her memory.
