We regret to announce the passing of our dear mother Anne Lawless on October19th. Oursorrowhowever is tempered by these words she wrote a few years ago:
"Shed no tears for me my friend Oh shed no tears for me.
For I am with my saviour now A wonderous place to be."
Anne was born in Manchester, England on June 19th,1927 the youngest of six children all of whom have predeceased her. Anne spent her formative years in Manchester with the exception of a short time when she was evacuated with her dear sister Joan during WW2. It was in Manchester that she met the love of her life Geoffrey. Forbidden to marry until she was 18 she waited four days past her birthday.
So began a marriage which lasted 69 years until Geoff 's passing in 2013.
In late 1949 Anne and Geoff together with their young son Peter, left England for Canada settling in Burnaby B.C. where she later gave birth to two daughters Catherine and Valerie. In 1985 she and dad moved to Evergreen Village in Abbotsford. This new address gave them a base for travelling to Arizona in winter and for camping and fishing in summer
Mom had a lifetime interest in the creative arts both painting and writing poetry. Indeed in her 90th year she started a new art group in Evergreen Village.
She is survived by her three children Peter (Sharon), Catherine Reitsema (Lieuwe), and Valerie Beardwood (Stephen), 12 grandchildren, 28 great children and many, many friends.
There will be no formal service at this time. Mom's ashes will be scattered with Dad's at a favourite lake by the family at a later date.
