Anne Elizabeth PALFY

February 15, 2006

Anne Elizabeth Palfy (nee Simon) passed away peacefully on February 15, 2006, at the age of 96. She was born on July 4, 1909, in Cana, Saskatchewan. Anne is survived by her five children Margaret Morrison (Thomas), Mary Lonsberry (Gerald), Steve Palfy (Connie), Joseph Palfy (Lois), and Esther Palfy, her sixteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren, and thirteen great, great grandchildren. Anne was predeceased by her loving husband Stephen in 1973, her two brothers, Jim and Mike, her two sisters, Rose and Mary, her two son-in-laws, Thomas and Gerald, and by her little grandson Bradley.

Anne and Steve moved from Wiseton, Saskatchewan, to Abbotsford in 1960. They both enjoyed the milder climate as it allowed them to garden and enjoy the outdoors. Anne grew the most beautiful roses one could imagine. She loved bowling, trips to Reno and spent every free moment busily crocheting doilies, table cloths, and bed spreads. They were truly works of art. Steve and Anne were members of the Old Age Pensioners and Anne was a member of the Catholic Women’s League in the early years.

Anne is most remembered for the absolute and unconditional love that she deeply felt and freely gave to her family and friends.

Funeral services for Anne Palfy will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, February 22, 2006, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Abbotsford.

Heartfelt thanks to the staff at Menno Home for their kindness and caring throughout her time with them. Donations to the Menno Home would be most appreciated.
