After a fall and recurring health issues, Anna Epp of Abbotsford, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2009 at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital. She leaves to celebrate a lifetime of fond memories with their loving mom, children: Anna (& Hans Juilfs) of Germany; Rudy (& Marilyn); Ingrid (& Mel Rempel), Jake (& Cheryl), Sask., Harry (& Terri), Lena (& Gil Burwash), John (& Lou-Anne), Viktor (& Glenda), Sask; many grandchildren & great grandchildren; her sisters: Erika-Sara Enns and Helena Neufeld; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is predeceased by her husbands: Peter Epp and Alois Vitzthum, sister, Neta Thiessen, brothers Heinrich Thiessen and Johann Sawatzky and grandson Jerad Epp (Sask.).
Anna Epp was born on November 16, 1922 to Johann & Anna (Penner) Thiessen in Nieder-Chortiza, Russia. As a refugee of war, she immigrated to Paraguay in 1947 and came to Canada in 1965 with her large family and late husband Peter.
The family extends a special thanks to Dr. Paul Fluit, Dr. Virgil Danescu and the nurses and support team for their special care of our mom at the hospital's ACE Unit.
A viewing is held on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 - 7 pm - 8:30 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Road, Abbotsford.
A memorial service (followed by a reception) is held Wednesday, June 24, 2009, 11 am at Eben-Ezer Mennonite Church, 2051 Windsor Street, Abbotsford.
In lieu of flowers, you may wish to donate to the 'Lunch with the Bunch' program at Abbotsford Community Services.
