Anna, born July 29, 1903, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2004 at the Menno Hospital. She is survived by her children, Peter (Rose), Herman (Helen), David (Lynda) and Edith (Ben) Matthies; 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Anna was born in former Russia and immigrated to Canada with her family in 1925. Here she later married Leonard Adrian who predeceased her in 1967. They settled in Rosemary, Alberta where they farmed for 26 years. They retired to Abbotsford in 1964 where she enjoyed relating to her children, grandchildren, many friends and extended family.
Anna will be remembered for her gentle giving and caring nature, her devotion to her family, to God and the work of the church.
Public viewing is on Sunday, October 31, 3-5 pm at Personal Alternative Funeral Services, 3070 275 A St., Aldergrove.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2:30 pm at the Menno Hospital Chapel, 32945 Marshall Rd., Abbotsford.
