Ann Maureen THIBAULT

Ann Maureen

April 25, 1953 – June 6, 2008

It is with great sadness that we

announce the death of our lovely Ann after losing her battle with breast cancer. She died peacefully at the Christine Morrison Hospice in Mission. Predeceased by her father, George, in 1992, she is survived by her husband, Normand; daughter, Sarah and son, Paul; mother, Bess; brother, David (Bonnie) and sister, Jean (Bruce). She is also survived by her three nephews and their families. She leaves behind many saddened cousins in England and Bermuda, and a host of friends in many countries.

Ann was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan where her parents arrived from England after the Second World War. She attended school there before moving to Saskatoon, where she continued with her schooling, later attending the University of Saskatchewan. She moved to Abbotsford nearly thirty years ago and has made the city her home ever since.

Ann worked as a teacher for Corrections Canada and was loved and respected by her co-workers with whom she enjoyed many happy times. She was close friends with a small group of women she met at St. Ann’s Church when their children were all very young. This circle of friendship flourished and grew providing Ann with a wonderful sense of camaraderie, fun and sharing.

Ann had a spirited sense of humour and was always able to see the amusing side of things. She had a particular appreciation of animals and never met a dog or cat she didn’t love and want to take home.

Ann was dearly loved by many. The lives of her family will never be the same without her. We will all miss her terribly.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 13, 2008 at St. Ann’s Parish, 33333 Mayfair Avenue, Abbotsford, BC.

Donations in Ann’s name may be made to the SPCA or to the Christine Morrison Hospice in Mission.

“May perpetual light shine upon her.”
