Anita Hystek

It is with great sadness and inner peace that our much loved wife, mother, granny and great-granny has passed on to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 27, 2019.

Anita is survived by her husband of 68 years, Herman; her children Bonnie (Dick) Heinen, Carla (Dave) Schellenberg, Nanc (Dave) Rick, Herman (Alisa) Hystek, Trudy (Ed) Griffioen, Art (Donna) Hystek; 25 grandkids, and 64 great-grandkids. She is predeceased by her mom and dad Bouke and Willemien Roffel, her brother Bill, sisters Nancy and Willy, and her beautiful granddaughter Lisa.

Anita was born in Hengelo, the Netherlands in 1932. She immigrated with her family to Chatham, Ontario at age 15. In 1969, Herman, Anita, and their six children moved to British Columbia, living in Surrey, Aldergrove, and Abbotsford.

Anita survived a brain aneurysm in 1991 by the grace of God and continued to be a tower of strength to all who knew her. She dedicated her life to her ever growing family, always putting herself second to everyone else's needs. Her great talent for knitting everything from sweaters to dolls to animals will be a treasured memory for all of us.

We love you. We miss you. Be at peace in God's arms.
