Andrea Kastner

'I have called you by name...' and on September 16, 2024, her name was called. Suddenly, unexpectedly, and undoubtedly with joy, Andrea went peacefully in her sleep to continue her walk with God.

Through life's many journeys which began in Grande Prairie / Peace Country Alberta, Andrea established roots in Vancouver, Calgary, and England but she was always happy to come home to her community of Abbotsford where she grew up, raised with her sister and brother by their parents Olive (d.1984) and Armine (d.1972) Kastner.

Left to carry her legacy of generosity, curiosity, grace, practicality, and joy are her family; daughter Lisa (Mark), grand-daughter Savanna (Keefer), and great-grandson Harbour; daughter Erin (Brad), grand-daughters Marley and Piper; Sister Trudy (Doug), brother Michael (Ursula), and their children Corinna and Felix.

Also missing her and honouring Andrea's faith and wisdom are the many people with whom she developed deep friendships over her lifetime. She was a mentor to many of us and a source of valuable counsel always. In recent years Andrea had found a strong sense of community and family at St. Dunstan's Church in Aldergrove where she felt accepted, valued, and loved - she had found her spiritual family.

She would be sad for our deep sense of loss, but her faith was deeper than our sorrow - it touched everyone who knew her. She spent her life preparing to go home and we will celebrate her life on earth knowing she is now immersed in love and joy inconceivable even to those of us that were graced by her unending and unconditional love, delight, wonder, and faith.

A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday October 9 at 11:00 am at St. Dunstan's Church, 3025 264 Street, Aldergrove. Andrea lived in the principles of grace, charity, and service.
