Amanda passed away peacefully in Chilliwack General Hospital on Monday, January 28, 2008.
Amanda was born on March 5, 1987 on her Oma's birthday at Abbotsford, BC. She is the only child of Henry and Lorna Janzen. She was predeceased by her grandmother Betty Knelsen. She is survived by her parents Henry and Lorna Janzen of Chilliwack, BC, also grandfather John Knelsen of Rochester, Alberta and grandparents Peter and Emmy Janzen of Penticton, BC and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Amanda and her parents lived in Swift Current, Saskatchewan for three years. She finished her high school years and graduated in June of 2005. She still has many friends there.
Amanda always had a smile on her face in spite of having battled cancer since age 15. The last year, Dec. 2001 - Aug. 2007 she had three surgeries and treatments, still she was always upbeat through it all. She loved cars and bikes. She and her dad attended as many shows and races and drifting events as they could in the last two years that she was back in BC. She also enjoyed snowboarding.
Interment service will be held in Hope, BC at 11:00 am on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008. A memorial service will be held at Broadway MB Church in Chilliwack, BC on Sunday, Feb 3, 2008 at 3:00 pm. Casket bearers are Chris Janzen, Justine Janzen, Daniel Knelsen, Karen Knelsen, Jordan Yliruusi, Levi Yliruusi and honorary bearers are Alex Asdale and Jessica Yliruusi, all cousins of Amanda. Donations in memory of Amanda may be made to SPCA or Salvation Army Food Bank.
