August 19, 1937 - September 8, 2021
With heavy hearts we share the passing of our loving Opa. Alvin was born in Quinton, Saskatchewan and moved to Yankee Flats, BC in 1943.
He worked as a logger, grader operator, and spent many years on his small farm in Lavington haying and raising cattle. He also could be heard on his tractor haying around the Lavington area, and helping others with their farming.
However, his real passion was hunting. He made many trips to his beloved Kootenays with his nephews and grandson Tyler.
He will be missed by his children Karen (Verlin) and Sherry (Bernie) from his marriage to Peg Lunzmann, and his grandchildren Tyler (Courtney), Jessica (Matt), Stephanie (Corey), Karla (Matt), and Sam, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and great grandchildren.
He also leaves behind his grieving partner Bev Tilk and her children and family.
He is predeceased by his parents Rudolf and Teresa and his siblings Rudy, Norman, Louie, Gladys, Bill and Hedley.
A private funeral was held September 16, 2021 by close friends and family members due to covid 19.
His giant hugs will be forever missed. May you rest in peace Dad.
