JENSEN

Allan passed away at Abbotsford Regional Hospital on March 29th.

He is survived by his wife Brenda, children Steven, David, Leigh and Linda, their partners, grandchildren and great grandchildren, his sister Gloria and brother-in-law Danny of North Vancouver, Ryanne and Dean of Penticton, Angie, Glen and their children from Squamish and The Jensen clan in California. Allan was born in Vancouver and started his broadcasting career in Vancouver at CJOR and then to CKLG where he hosted the most popular jazz show on the West Coast. His broadcast and television career took him to many places in British Columbia, Alberta and the Yukon.

Allan and Brenda moved to the Kootenays in the early 70's and spent many happy years residing in Trail, Castlegar and on the beach in Nelson. They returned to the West Coast in 1986 for career opportunities in the Fraser Valley. Allan was a very humorous, but shy man, with a very warped sense of humor - took people a while to realize when he was joking. His passion in later life was listening to his vast collection of jazz recordings, watching the Oakland Raiders and golf. His greatest thrill was making a Hole in One at Fraser Glen Golf Course. Allan was diagnosed with dementia in 2009. He was able to be cared for at home until his admittance to the Abbotsford Regional Hospital five weeks ago. Brenda would like to sincerely thank Maplewood House, Home Health Services, the caring staff at Abbotsford Regional Hospital, the Abbotsford Alzheimer's Society and the support from the Seniors Clinic during his journey with dementia.
