Allan Daniel DYCK

Allan Daniel Dyck passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 29, 2005 with his wife Dianna and son Gordon by his side. He was born in Cudworth, Saskatchewan, and was one of 13 brothers and sisters. Allan started doing tin work at age 12, putting in furnaces with his father. He went to work in Calgary at age 15, and apprenticed at Calgary Tech. He was a tin man all his life, working for 21 years with the Sheet Metal Workers Union, Local 280. Retiring at age 55, Allan bought lakefront at Knouff Lake. He enjoyed his favourite pastime, fishing from dawn till dusk, for 6 years at Knouff Lake. He built 5 houses and raised 4 wonderful children. He is survived by his best friend and wife of 50 years, Dianna; daughter Katherine (Ron) of Mission; sons Peter (Heather) of Maple Ridge, Paul of Maple Ridge, and Gordon of Port Coquitlam; and grandchildren Alexandra, Mary and Christopher. He is predeceased by his brother Bill and sisters Margaret and Irene. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, July 10, 2005 at 11:00 am at Thornhill Hall, 26087 98th Avenue, Maple Ridge. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
