ALEX WURBAN

December 2, 1928 - February 17, 2008

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend that was taken from us on February 17, 2008 at Chilliwack General Hospital.

Alex was born in Calmar Alberta in 1928. He was raised in Telfordville Alberta on a farm until age seventeen when he joined the Royal Edmonton Regiment Army Reserve and then at the age of nineteen he joined the Regular Army and soon after transferred to the Royal Canadian Navy of which he served until his retirement in 1978 at the rank of Chief Petty Officer 2nd Class.

He is survived by his loving wife Frances; eight children: Elaine (Gaines), Ellen (Forsey), Glen, Debby (Scott), Cindy (Devauld), Eddy, Carrol and Betty (Stallcup); twenty-one grandchildren, four great grandchildren; brothers Mike, John, Steve, Lawrence; sisters Eva (Gritzfeldt), Shirley (Fortier), many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Alex is now reunited with his predeceased parents Daniel and Nancy Wurban; brother Fred and sisters Millie (Kelsey) and Diana (Godkin).

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, February 25th 2008 at 2:30 p.m. from the Chapel of Henderson's Funeral Home - 45901 Victoria Avenue, Chilliwack, B.C.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
