Albertina 'Tina' Sturwold

Tina Sturwold passed away peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Saviour on February 18, 2022. Several family members were at her side upon her passing.
Tina was born in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan in 1927. In 1931 Tina's parents moved to Freeman River, Alberta to attempt farming. The soil wasn't fertile and the farming experience failed.
In 1933 her parents moved to Neerlandia, Alberta, where her dad managed the Neerlandia Co-op store. In1945 her family moved to Houston, BC where she met her first husband (Bill).
Tragically, a year later her husband was accidentally shot in the leg and passed away a short time later. Tina was left with a five week old baby.
Two years later, she moved back to Neerlandia and married her second husband (Jake), raising four more boys and two daughters. In 1973, Jake and Tina sold the family farm and moved to Abbotsford.
Tina was a homemaker her entire adult life. She could bake, cook, and entertain with the best of them. She was the kindest, sweetest, Christian lady you'd ever meet.
Predeceased by her first husband Bill Seinen (1948), her second husband Jake Sturwold (1999), son Lester Sturwold (1967), brother Jan Koning (2019), granddaughter Tammy Seinen (2015), and daughter in law Cindy Sturwold (2003).
Lovingly remembered by her children Ray (Lydia), Stan, Keith (Wilma), Wade (Betty), Denise (Ken), and Colleen (John), fifteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, two siblings Betty (Peter), Rita and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Spending the last eleven years of her life at Bevan Village. The family wants to thank all the health care workers for their excellent care, love, and support.
She will be forever missed.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Rd, Abbotsford, BC at 1pm on Saturday, February 26th.
