ADELINE OLIVE STERTZ

Adeline Olive Stertz passed away peacefully September 11, 2003 at the age of 87.


Adeline was born December 5, 1915 in Grand Forks, North Dakota. She married Jack Stertz on September 3, 1939 in Winnipeg, Manitoba.


Adeline and Jack lived in Winnipeg, MB, Prince Albert and Estevan, SK and Abbotsford, B.C. She was a stenographer, working until her retirement in 1975.


She was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church, in the choir, the Evangelical Lutheran Women, and the Golden Friendship Club. She enhoyed travelling to the praities to visit friends and relatives. She loved sering and baking, especially for her grandchildren. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was special to all of us and will be in our hears forever.


Adeline is survived by her daughter Janis Stertz of Kamloops, grandchildren Nicole Evans of Oxford, UK, Scott Evans of Abbotsford, and Laura Evans of Kamloops, great grandson Hunter Evans of Kamloops, sisters Helen Berger of Grand Forks, ND and Margaret (Errol) Carruthers of Medicine Hat, AB, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Anne and Doug Irwin and Louella and Fred Stertz, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.


Adeline was predeceased by Jack, her loving husband of 52 years, her grandson Darren Evans, her brothers Obert and Palmer Berger, and her parents Mary and Ole Berger.


The Funeral service will be held Wednesday, Septmeber 17, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, 2029 Ware Street, Abbotsford, B.C. with Pastor Christoph Reiners officiating. Everyone is invited to a reception at the church following interment at Hazelwood Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Peace Lutheran ELW or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
