Reimer, Adam James Edward
Adam was born on December 30, 1986 in Campbell River, B.C. - son of Maggie Reimer (nee Comerford) originally from Victoria, B.C. and Don Reimer of Abbotsford, B.C. Brother to Ryan Dear (Margo) and Erin Reimer. Adam had attended Cultus Lake Elementary, Vedder Middle, graduating from Sardis Senior Secondary in 2005. After a long & courageous battle with Niemann-Pick Disease, surrounded by his family, his best friend Ian Fournier and fiancé Felicia, his other "big brother" Steve Hiscoe, Adam passed away in the early hours of January 11, 2011.
Adam played hockey in the Chilliwack Minor Hockey league and hockey was his life. Everyone who knew Adam realized that they had to bone up on the Canucks before they went to see him. Adam loved to dance - and had a wicked sense of humour. His smile would light up the room.
Thank you to his caregivers from the Chilliwack Society for Community Living and We Care who, through their care, extended his life. Thank you to the nurses and doctors in Emergency and ICU at Chilliwack General. Special thanks to the many Paramedics who rushed him to hospital so many times.
Thank you to Dr. Ian Morrison and Dr. Mark MacKenzie for the tough job we gave them, which they shouldered with compassion.
Prayers will be held on Friday, January 14th 2011 at 8:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church. Services will be held on Saturday, January 15th 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 8909 Mary Street, Chilliwack.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Chapter of the National Niemann Pick Disease Foundation can be made in his memory.
