In loving memory ~
It is with deep sadness the family announces the sudden passing of Abram Federau on December 28, 2022.
Abram was born on November 17, 1934, in Filadelfia, Paraguay. One of eleven children, he is now survived by three sisters.
He had a hard life farming with his family there until they moved to Vancouver, Canada in 1973. The family eventually settled in Abbotsford in 1977.
He worked extremely hard in construction until his retirement in 1994.
Paraguay was always close to his heart and he travelled back many times over the years.
His love of music started at a young age where he taught himself how to play the mandolin, piano, harmonica and most importantly the accordion.
Abe played the accordion at various events his whole life, it was the highlight at all family gatherings as well.
He was also a self-taught barber and a master at the grill.
Abe was a very happy, social man who loved to tell stories and had a friendly offering of a candy to anyone he would meet.
Abram leaves behind his loving wife of 63 years, Susie along with their 6 children; AnneMarie (Don), Eric (Rita), Luey, Hardy (Carol), Elsie (Barry) and Carola (Justin).
Our beloved Opa leaves behind 20 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
We love you dad and will miss you dearly.
