1922 - 2010
Abraham Schartner went to be with His Savior and Lord on Friday, October 15th, 2010 at the age of eighty seven years, ten months and three days. He will be lovingly remembered by his family, his beloved wife of over sixty six years, Vera; three sons, Robert (Arlene), Fort Vermilion, Alta.; Reginald (Eleanor), Mt. Lehman, B.C.; Richard (Donna), Summerland, B.C. and one daughter Debora (Bruce) Frees; Yarrow, B.C., eight grandchildren; Mike and Maxine, Carmyn and Dwayne Gibson, Greg, Dean and Natalie, Rob, Larry and Lisa, Lee, Darrell and Vicky; twenty one great grandchildren; as well as one brother, Albert (Lou), Salmon Arm, B.C. and five sisters; Helen Toews, Elda Toews, Nettie (Gordon) Dueck, Lavina (Bert) Enns, and Josie Regehr. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Mary (Esau) Schartner; sister Florence and Frank Isaac; sister Linda and Jake Letkeman; three brothers in law; Abe Regehr, Harvey Toews; and Alva Toews; four nephews, and one great grandson.
The funeral service will be held at the Church of God in Christ Mennonite, corner of Downes and Ross, on October 19th, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. Online condolences to the Schartner family may be made at
