Abraham (Abe) Herman Martens, aged 81, went peacefully in his sleep to be with the Lord on January 21, 2003.
He leaves behind his loving wife Katherine, having been married for 61 years. He will be greatly missed by his children; Walter (Lois), Joyce (Hank) Regehr, Ken (Sylvia), Ron (Carole), Irene (Bob) Smith together with 22 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
He also leaves behind a brother Jack (Marlene) and 3 sisters Margaret Matties, Ann (Jake) Enns and Susan (Chuck) McWhirter and many other dear family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 27, 2003, from 7:30 - 9:00 p.m. at the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home.
A Graveside Service will be held at Maclure Road Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. followed by a service to celebrate his life at 2:30 p.m. at Bakerview M.B. Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family would gratefully request donations to the ALS Society. A designated table for donations will be available at the service.
"...and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord Forever".
