Abigail “Abby” Paulette ANDERSON

July 20, 2006

After a lengthy and spirited battle with breast cancer, Abigail Paulette Anderson, “Abby” passed away on July 20, peacefully with family at her side. She is survived by her husband Terry, children Kimberley, Jason and Amber, grandchildren Amanda, Myranda, and Sebastian, brothers Garry and Mark, and mother Olive M. Grigg. She is predeceased by her father Joseph D. Grigg.

There are really far too many words to describe Abby, independent, brave, okay, perhaps fearless, bold, intelligent, witty, and “tell it like it is whether you like it or not”, but most of all, and what we loved most about her was her passion. Her passion for just about everything in life, her love for her family, her love to and for work, her love to command change and make a difference, and of course, her over-the-top, sing it from the roof tops love of CHRISTMAS!

Abby lived her professional life much as she did her personal life, full of zest and enthusiasm. Her career varied throughout her life, but she would best be known for her time spent as Executive Director of the Burnaby Chamber of Commerce where she affected the personal and professional lives of many individuals in the Burnaby Business Community. She was also a member of the Rotary Club in Burnaby, and sat on several boards including the Burnaby Hospital Board, and the Burnaby Police Commission.

Please come and celebrate Abby’s life with us at Christ Church Cathedral, 690 Burrard Street, Vancouver, B.C. at 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 27.

Donations can be made to Abby’s favorite charities: The Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, B.C. Cancer Foundation, and The Parkinson’s Society of B.C.
