Wind warning in Abbotsford, expected to gust to 90 km/h this evening. Fairly breezy commute today

Good morning! It was a mostly cloudy start to the day at 6 C as of 7 a.m., and the Environment Canada weather service tells us we’ve got 85 per cent humidity and 15 km/h winds from the east-northeast.

We can expect to see more rain today, with a high of 12 C and a low overnight of 5 C. We’ve also got a wind warning today, with winds at 40 km/h this afternoon, gusting to 70 km/h. This evening, we’re looking at stronger winds – 60 km/h, gusting to 90.

After that, we’ve got a full week of rain ahead of us, with only Saturday forecast to see a little bit of sun, albeit still with a chance of showers. Highs are set at 8 to 10 C, with lows between 6 and 8 C.

Currently, visibility is 24 kilometres.

On clear roads and driving at the speed limit, a drive from the Abbotsford News building to Downtown Vancouver would take 50 minutes.

Today, your daily commute time as of 7:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 14, 2018 is one hour 16 minutes, with a small section of heavy congestion along Highway 1 in between Abbotsford and Aldergrove and relatively clear from there.
