An Abbotsford Police officer checks through one of two cars involved in a collision on Townline Road near Maclure on Monday afternoon.

A female driver was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following a two-vehicle crash on Townline Road just north of Maclure Road in Abbotsford at about 4:30 p.m. on Monday.

Witnesses on the scene said the woman, who was driving a Jeep, was making a turn onto Townline off of Edgehill Avenue – located north of Maclure – when she was struck by a vehicle travelling south on Townline.

Traffic on Townline does not have a traffic light or stop sign in that area.

The male driver of the second vehicle then apparently left his car at the side of the road and fled the scene, but returned when police arrived.

Members of the Abbotsford Police Department, Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service and B.C. Ambulance were on the scene.
