A 48-year-old woman was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a semi-trailer unit on Highway 1 in Abbotsford on Tuesday afternoon.

The eastbound lanes were closed to traffic between Clearbrook and McCallum roads, while an air ambulance landed on the freeway.
