Wayne Scott's lawyer to argue entrapment

Co-convicted Jarrod Bacon of Abbotsford will not join the application.

A hearing for Wayne Scott, recently convicted of drug conspiracy with Jarrod Bacon, has been set for Feb. 29 in B.C. Supreme Court in Vancouver.

At that time, his lawyer will argue that the conviction should be tossed out, due to police entrapment. Bacon is not joining the application, and a date will be set for his sentencing.

The pair were found guilty on Feb. 3 of conspiracy to traffic cocaine, following a judge-only trial. They were charged in November 2009 as part of an undercover sting in Abbotsford by the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit.
