The Abbotsford Police Department (APD) t is trying to locate a high-risk offender who missed a court date on Wednesday, Feb. 8.
Sean Patrick Smith, 31, was recently released from federal custody after serving a sentence of just over two years for assault with a weapon, extortion and forcible confinement.
APD Sgt. Judy Bird said Smith, who was out on bail, failed to make his scheduled appearance in Abbotsford provincial court after an application for a peace bond (restraining order) was made against him.
He is now wanted on a B.C.-wide warrant.
Smith is Caucasian, 6’ 2” and 243 pounds. He has short dark hair, green eyes, wears glasses and no longer has a goatee.
