Abbotsford and the Fraser Valley have received a big helping hand from members of the Canadian military during the recent flooding that has hit the region hard, and members have documented some of their work.

The first group of troops arrived on Nov. 18, the Royal Canadian Air Force touching down at Abbotsford International Airport on Nov. 20.

Members have also been focused on recovery efforts in Hope and Chilliwack, two communities that have also been hurt by the devastating weather and flooding.

Abbotsford mayor Henry Braun stated in his daily press conference on Monday (Nov. 22) that members in Abbotsford have been regularly walking and checking on local dikes and helping remove debris in culverts.
