GUILDFORD — A Surrey business says it has fired an employee after a troubling video of a child stuck on a Surrey climbing wall made the rounds on Facebook.

As of Thursday morning, the video had been viewed almost 6,000 times.

A mom posted the video to her Facebook page Wednesday, which shows her child crying while being ignored by a staff member for roughly 50 seconds. The staff member appears to be on her cell phone the whole time.

“My daughter is crying up there and she is ON HER PHONE TEXTING!!!” wrote mom Jasmine Tseng in the post.

The Now has not been able to reach the mom for comment but in response to questions being asked about why she didn’t drop the phone and run in to help her child, she posted, “It broke my heart not to run and help my daughter right away. But I needed to capture this as evidence.”
