The Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU), with assistance from the Abbotsford Police Department, is investigating a possible drug lab inside a home on Westridge Place in west Abbotsford.
Sgt. Brenda Winpenny from the CFSEU told The News that her members were originally at the residence on Friday morning (May 28) to conduct a search warrant related to a firearms investigation.
“Upon entry, there was evidence of a possible clandestine lab,” she stated in an email. “Our officers are working collaboratively with AbbyPD and the RCMP clan lab team to take necessary precautions while they determine what is inside the residence.”
Nearby residents told The News that they witnessed a man and a woman arrested at the scene. A heavy police presence was there for most of the morning, with a hazmat team arriving at the scene later on.
