We look back at some of the news highlights from the past week

Take a look back at the stories that made The News this week.

  • A homeless man, Zolicon, is crying foul after the SPCA seized his two cats. The SPCA says the cats were living in unacceptable conditions on the streets. But Zolicon asks if it’s unacceptable for cats, why not for him?

  • Local teen Dylan Ratzlaff is dancing into the spotlight. The 16 year old has joined the cast of The Next Step, a hit teen drama series on the Family Channel. Read the story to find out how she went from being a fan of the show to starring it.

  • Many Abbotsford homeowners are unhappy with their latest property tax bills and Mayor Henry Braun is among them, except he says his taxes are too low.

  • A fire destroyed a family home at Marshall and Whatcom.
  • Another fire killed 25,000 chickens.
  • On Tuesday, the Abbotsford Police put out a call for information about the whereabouts of 37-year-old Jason Whitford. He was wanted on drug trafficking and sexual assault charges. Whitford was arrested that night.

  • Everybody in Abbotsford seems to agree we need more lanes on Highway 1. But some experts say that won’t solve chronic traffic jams one bit.

  • Abbotsford’s Ryan Craig has been named as an assistant coach for the Vegas Golden Knights.
