Abbotsford police seized 1100 pot plants in a brand new subdivision.

Abbotsford police seized 1141 marijuana plants during a raid on a house in the 2200 block of Merlot Boulevard on Sunday afternoon at 5:10 p.m.

Police said the residence was “heavily fortified” and it required multiple attempts at different breach points before officers were able to gain entry.

It was the second time police have made a major marijuana bust on the street, which is home to newer homes, in the past six months.

A raid in December hauled in 1600 plants.

Police said the site had an expired marijuana growing license.

Anyone with information about the illegal grow operation is asked to contact the Abbotsford Police Department at 604-859-5225 or text the APD at 222973 (abbypd) or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
