A three-vehicle crash closed the intersection of 200 Street and 16 Avenue on Tuesday afternoon.

The female driver of a Honda sedan was waiting to make a left turn at the intersection of 200 Street and 16 Avenue around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 3 when she was injured in a chain-reaction collision involving two large trucks.

Police said a cube van was making a right-hand turn onto 16 Avenue when it collided with a tractor-trailer truck, then hit the Honda.

The driver of the car was transported to hospital by ambulance for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries and was expected to make a full recovery.

The collision damaged the fuel tank of the semi, causing diesel to leak.

Township fire crews cleaned it up.

The driver of the cube van was issued a ticket for failing to drive without due care and attention.

Busy 16 Avenue was closed to westbound traffic for about half an hour.
