UPDATED: Transit police said Wednesday they have identified the three suspects in this case thanks to information from the public. No arrests reported yet. The investigation continues.

Transit police are looking for three suspects after one of them allegedly threatened to rape a woman on SkyTrain and then all three allegedly attacked a man who tried to intervene.

The Good Samaritan boarded the train late last Thursday night at Commercial and Broadway station, police said.

He saw three young men get on at Sperling Station and call out to a woman that they were going to follow her home.

“One of the men (now known as Suspect 1) then sat beside another woman and made jokes to his friends about raping her,” Transit Police said.

The Good Samaritan went and sat next to this man, police said, and told him to leave the woman alone.

The suspect started swearing at the man and threatened to follow him off the train.

The Good Samaritan left at Lougheed Station. Two of the suspects followed and punched him in the face and upper body, police said, before getting back on the train.

The first suspect then got off as well and punched the victim in the face, and all three attackers fled.

The Good Samaritan was treated in hospital for a bleeding nose and sore arm.

The first suspect is described as white, 20 to 25 years old, 6 feet tall, with a thin build, short brown hair, a red Hurley shirt, blue jeans and a black baseball hat.

The second suspect is described as white, in his early 20s, 5’9”, with a medium to heavy build, short brown hair, short beard and mustache, a blue NFL jersey with the name “Johnson” and the number 81 on the front, and dark jeans.

Finally, the third suspect is described as white, 20 years old, 5’9”, with a heavy build, short brown hair, a grey and red hoodie, black shorts and grey skate shoes.

Anyone with information about the suspects or the incidents is asked to call Transit Police at 604-515-8300 or text at 87 77 77.

“While we would not suggest anyone put themselves in harm’s way, we commend the victim in this incident for taking the action he did in trying to protect this woman, and the witnesses who provided statements,” police said.
