Local RCMP found no bomb at Mission Secondary School after hours of searching.
The school's students and staff were evacuated after a message was scrawled on a bathroom mirror stating a bomb would go off at 1:45 p.m.
Two RCMP dogs went through the school and turned up nothing, according to school principal Jim Pearce.
However, only a few people are going to be allowed back in the school today, and only to retrieve car keys, etc., he said.
School will be open on Wednesday, Pearce confirmed.
According to school superintendent Bill Fletcher and MSS' middle school vice-principal Dave Cyr, after the message was found in a girls' washroom, the RCMP were called and the school was dismissed for lunch five minutes early.
The Grade 7 and 8 students were kept on school grounds, but far away from the building, and were being supervised by staff. The Grade 9-12 students were free to leave the property, said Cyr.
MSS' current enrolment is about 1,100 students.
Once school was officially let out for the day in the early afternoon, parents were able to pick up their children from the Leisure Centre. This is also where buses collected students.
