Abbotsford Police are investigating a shooting that occurred on McKenzie Road on Friday afternoon.
Const. Ian MacDonald said police received a call at about 2:30 p.m. from Abbotsford Regional Hospital.
Staff said that a 19-year-old man showed up at the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries sustained in a shooting and indicated that he had been involved in a conflict on McKenzie Road at Fern Street – south of Marshall Road.
Police blocked off that area yesterday afternoon to look for evidence and witnesses.
The exact circumstances of the incident, including how many people were involved and what triggered it, are not yet known.
The victim was released from hospital at about 6 o'clock last night.
The investigation is continuing and police would like to speak with anyone who was in the area of McKenzie Road and Fern Street between 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. Friday or anyone who has information. They should call 604-859-5225, text abbypd (222973) or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
