UPDATE: Police incident on Clearbrook Road

Road had been closed by police to deal with incident in residence

Clearbrook Road in Abbotsford has been closed due to a police incident.

A portion of Clearbrook Road was closed for a short period on Wednesday after a police incident involving a distraught male closed the road around 10 a.m.. Traffic had been temporarily diverted from Charlotte Avenue to George Ferguson Way.

Const. Ian MacDonald said just before 9 a.m. police received a call from someone close to the man, saying that he was distraught in his residence and needed help.

Officers arrived on scene and while the man did not immediately respond to the door, police were able to speak with him, he said.

MacDonald said it became apparent that the man needed help and Clearbrook Road was shut for a short time.

"We were able to bring this to situation to a positive resolution and hopefully at this point in time, the young man will get some help."
