UPDATE: Police execute drug warrant on Abbotsford home

Seven people taken into custody at the scene, and one man faces charges.

A "problem home"  in the 2000 block of McCallum Road (near Marshall  Road) was the focus of a search warrant executed by the Abbotsford Police patrol section and emergency response team members at about 6 p.m. Monday.

Const. Ian MacDonald said there were seven people in the home at the time, and police found a small amount of crack cocaine and methamphetamine. A 70-year-old man was arrested, and police are recommending drug possession charges.

According to a resident of the complex, the landlord had abandoned the home and squatters had taken over.

MacDonald said police have already been called to the home nine times this year, for things such as disturbances, possible drug transactions and suspicious people.
