A mechanical issue is thought to be the cause of a vehicle going off the road Sunday afternoon on Vye Road.

Abbotsford Police Const. Ian MacDonald said the 2008 Suzuki went off the road at about 3:30 p.m., hit the edge of a ditch and flipped several times before stopping in the front yard of a property in the 35000 block of Angus Campbell Road.

The 52-year-old male driver and his 46-year-old wife were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

MacDonald said the vehicle will now be inspected to determine whether a mechanical failure was to blame for the incident.
