Abbotsford Police are trying to determine whether there are any links between a robbery and an attempted robbery that occurred within two hours of each other at separate pharmacies last Friday.

Const. Ian MacDonald said the first took place at 12:50 p.m., when a Caucasian man with his face covered entered a pharmacy in the 30400 block of Blueridge Drive and demanded cash and drugs.

He arrived and left the scene in a dark-coloured sedan believed to be a Toyota or a Honda. He is described as having a medium build and wearing a brown-and-beige long-sleeved shirt with the letters "E" and "D" on the front.

He was also wearing dark pants and shoes, and a black toque.

About two hours later, two Caucasian men were seen by a customer as they were preparing to commit a robbery in the 2800 block of Clearbrook Road, MacDonald said.

The witness said the men were toting a duffle bag that might have contained a gun, and called 911. The culprits left before confronting any pharmacy staff.

One suspect was wearing dark clothing and a toque, and the other had a white T-shirt, blue jeans, a mask and gloves.

Anyone with information is asked to call Abbotsford Police at 604-859-5225 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
